Raw materials, surface treatments, finishing, deburring, washing and marking for CNC mechanical components.

Raw materials

The foundations for quality production

We use a wide range of raw materials to meet different production requirements:

Non-ferrous metals

Aluminium, Zamak, Brass, Bronze, Copper alloys.

Ferrous metals

Fe360, Fe510, C40, 11SMnPb37 (AVP), cast iron.

Plastic

PTFE (Teflon), POM C (Derlin), PE (Polyzene), PVC, PMMA (Plexiglass).

Treatments

We improve material properties

In collaboration with our external partners, we offer a range of treatments to improve material properties and ensure optimal performance:

Heat treatments

Heat treatments modify the physical and mechanical properties of materials with controlled heating and cooling cycles, with the aim of making a metal or metal alloy acquire the crystalline structure that confers it certain mechanical and/or technological characteristics. The main heat treatments we perform include: expansion, normalisation, hardening, tempering, reclamation, case hardening, nitriding.

  • Expansion : reduces the internal stress of the material, improving its workability and reducing the risk of deformation during subsequent machining cycles.

  • Normalisation: smooths the crystalline structure of the material, improving its mechanical properties and its resistance to stress.

  • Hardening: hardens the material by heating it to high temperatures and then rapidly cooling, boosting hardness and wear resistance.

  • Tempering: reduces the brittleness of the hardening material, balancing hardness and resistance to achieve optimum performance.

  • Reclamation: combines heating and cooling to improve the combination of hardness and resistance of the material.

  • Case hardening: introduces carbon to the surface of the material to increase the surface hardness, maintaining tensile resistance in the core.

  • Nitriding: introduces nitrogen to the surface of the material to improve its hardness and resistance to wear and corrosion.

Surface treatments

Surface treatments improve the aesthetic, protective and functional properties of component surfaces. The surface treatments we perform in-house include: tumbling, polishing, burnishing, phosphating, galvanising, nickel plating, anodising, chrome plating.

  • Tumbling: smooths and rounds off the surfaces of the components to remove burrs and obtain an even finish.

  • Lucidatura: migliora l’aspetto estetico e riduce la rugosità superficiale, conferendo ai componenti una finitura lucida e riflettente.

  • Burnishing: applied to obtain a dark and even finish, improving corrosion resistance and reducing reflections.

  • Phosphating: forms a protective layer of phosphate on the surface of the material; this improves the adhesion of lubricants and increases resistance to corrosion.

  • Galvanising: protects the components from corrosion by applying a layer of zinc on the surface.

  • Nickel Plating: provides a corrosion and wear resistant finish by applying a layer of nickel on the surface of the component.

  • Anodising: increases the hardness and corrosion resistance of aluminium by creating an oxide layer on the surface; also available in different colours.

  • Chrome Plating: we offer a chrome plating option to improve the hardness and aesthetic appearance of the components, with excellent wear and corrosion resistance properties.

Galvanic treatments

Galvanic treatments apply a layer of metal on the surface of the components by means of electrochemical processes. These treatments are essential for: galvanising, nickel plating, chrome plating.

  • Galvanising: application of a layer of zinc to protect components from corrosion and prolong their useful life.

  • Nickel plating: a layer of nickel improves corrosion resistance and surface hardness.

  • Chrome plating: application of a layer of chrome to obtain a durable and wear-resistant finish, with excellent corrosion protection.

Painting

Painting is a process involving the application of a layer of paint or protective coating to a surface to improve its appearance, protect it from external agents, and sometimes to bestow particular functional properties. We use both liquid and powder coatings to give the components an aesthetically pleasant and durable finish, protecting the surfaces from damage and corrosion.

  • Powder: applied by means of an electrostatic process. The powder is charged electrically and sprayed onto a surface that has an opposite charge. This helps the powder to adhere evenly to the entire surface.

  • Liquid: applied by means of various methods, such as sprays, brushes, rollers or immersion. This paint contains pigments and resins dissolved in a liquid solvent.

SUPERIOR QUALITY FINISHES WARRANTY

Deburring

During machining processes, such as milling, drilling and threading, the material can move slightly, resulting in uneven edges, splinters or fraying, commonly known as burrs. These residues form on a wide range of materials, including steel, aluminium, cast iron, forged steel and plastic parts. Deburring is therefore a crucial step towards obtaining high-quality, safe and ready-to-use mechanical components in advanced industrial applications.

CLEANING AND DEGREASING OF MECHANICAL PARTS

Alcohol vacuum washing

Alcohol washing is a cleaning technique that makes it possible to degrease, clean and dry all types of parts perfectly, even in the presence of complex geometries and blind and capillary holes, drastically reducing the consumption of washing liquids compared to atmospheric cycle washing machines.

Vacuum treatment

It guarantees the best environmental quality in both the work area and the atmosphere. The vacuum ensures that the system is airtight and that no residue is left on the parts. It allows you to reduce cycle times and the power used by the plant with a 100% increase in production capacity. Our cleaning process prepares the components in an excellent manner for further treatment and/or assembly.

IDENTIFICATION AND RECOGNITION OF PARTS

Product marking

We perform the marking process according to the specification required by the customer. We use two different techniques for product/component identification:

Permanent mechanical engraving

Chip removal with microcutters integrated in the processing cycle.

Laser marking

This processing technology uses a laser to create engravings and can be of two types:

  • incision: removal of a surface layer of the material;
  • marking: alteration of the colour of the material without removing the material.
